Our community has been fundamental to our success, whether it was nearby shops stocking us from day 1, or our locals turning up once a month to our taproom come rain or shine.
We have grown and aim to keep growing. We want our community to grow with us.
The Taproom is the manifestation of our commitment to the local community. We want the space to be used for meetings, events, awareness sessions, education seminars as well as fundraising by charities and community groups to further their projects. In these cases, we’d review the event and will subsidise the rental. The space is also open to rent for personal, and private activities.
One of our 20 taps are dedicated to raise funds for a chosen charity or community project, giving 50% net profit of each drink poured. This runs one weekend a month.
Social Inclusion & Accessibility
When we designed our taproom, we realised that most bars aren’t fully accessible in one way or another. In our commitment to providing a space for everyone, we have worked hard to find ways to break down physical barriers many people face.
A quarter of our bar is lowered, with no front, allowing wheelchairs users to be served at an appropriate height. The site is one level, allowing free access for individuals with limited mobility.
Over the course of their probation period, our staff learn person centred approaches and communication skills, through training courses delivered by a local charity.
Our aim is to keep innovating, and to ensure accessibility for all. Being visually/hearing/physically or otherwise impaired shouldn’t limit how you socialise.
Drink it and talk to people.
