In light of ever-changing circumstances, we wanted to update you with our current plans for The Taproom.
For the time being, both The Taproom and The Douglas Fir will remain open for both on & off-trade sales, with the additional precautions remaining in place. We have also removed a number of tables from each site to improve social distancing. All regularly planned activities such as Run Club, Quiz Night and Brewery Tours will not take place until further notice.
Our staff are under no obligation to work, but we want to ensure they have the opportunity to do so if they feel comfortable.
We will continue to operate takeout sales from The Taproom and Douglas Fir for customers who would prefer to drink in the comfort of their home, with 20% off all small-pack beer to take away. You can grab takeout beers during opening hours from both venues, or from the Taproom at any time during brewery opening hours (Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm, plus during Taproom hours).
We are working on further solutions to provide at-home delivery services to our regulars. In the meantime, we recommend purchase of our beers via our online e-commerce store or on Deliveroo.
The safety of our patrons and staff remains at the very forefront of our minds, and we will be reviewing this policy on a daily basis. Please check our social media feeds for any further updates.
At Gipsy Hill we’ve had a lot of fun over the past 4 years. Our team’s grown from 3 founders to 25 dedicated brewers, warehousers, sales chaps, marketers, bar staff and more. We’ve since opened The Douglas Fir, Gipsy Hill Taproom and we’ve never been happier with our beer quality. We’ve seen London, and further afield blossom into a burgeoning craft beer hub.
Quality is the bedrock of our craft beer movement, and is too often inconsistent. At Gipsy Hill we are trying to lead the conversation about beer quality within breweries, pubs, bars, wholesalers and customers.
That’s why, for our new taproom next door to the brewery, we’ve built the most advanced cellaring system, that we know of in the UK. It has individual line temperature control, as well as 4 different settings for gas mixes, to ensure the beer is being served as it should be, in top condition. The same Taproom will act as our barrel store, and an R&D pilot brewhouse for 50L batches of experimental brews.
What's on Tap
Community engagement and social inclusion is an important part of what we’re doing. We’re a fully wheelchair accessible site, with all tables accessible, as well as an accessible bar and loo. We’ll regularly hosting a range of community events that promote inclusion and accessibility.
We will be showcasing up to 50% Gipsy Hill beer and 50% Guest beer on tap as well as an extensive selection in our bottle fridges. Sourcing the best beer we can from across the world, with carefully selected spirits, bar snacks and street-food vendors to match.
Join us at the Taproom, drink it and talk to people.
