The Carbon Negative Collab Series

The Carbon Negative Collab Series image

Introducing, The Carbon Negative Collab Series!

Back in July, we flipped sustainable brewing on its frothy little head – with the launch of Trail and Swell – the world’s first offset-free carbon negative beers.

Fixing the planet one (or two) carbon negative beers at a time – was a pretty great start. But what if we could do more…

LIKE A WHOLE CARBON NEGATIVE SERIES?!

Well, that’s exactly what we’ve done.

Bringing in some of our favourite breweries from across the globe to create a set of carbon negative, offset-free beers – that prove you can produce damn delicious products that have a positive impact on the planet – and you don’t need to compromise on quality either. Proper pints with purpose!

Pretty epic right?

The banging four-beer line-up features collabs with North Brew, Cloudwater, Verdant and Amundsen Brewery (we told you it was epic) and includes a tasty smorgasbord of styles, flavours and ABV’s.

Before we kick into how dang delicious they are. We thought we’d give you a brief recap on how we brew carbon negative beers without the need to offset the damage.

Wildfarmed Barley

The base barley for our carbon negative beers is grown by the incredible growers over at Wildfarmed.

Wildfarmed work directly with farmers across the UK, to help them grow in a regenerative system that prioritises plant diversity, returns health to land and pays people fairly.

Regenerative practices help reverse the degradation of that lovely soil between our toes. Healthy soil = better carbon sequestration.

As such, the regenerative barley used in the beers sequesters more CO2e than it takes to produce them. Wild right?!

Recapture and Reused Hops

On top of that, our carbon negative beers are brewed with almost entirely recaptured and reused hops!

A process we’ve pioneered at the brewery, reusing hops is nothing like reusing an old teabag. More like squeezing that last little bit out an orange. In short, instead of throwing our cold side hops down the drain, we invested in new machinery that extracts those hops out the beer – reusing them as hot side additions in another beer!

Learn about this process from our co-founder Sam!

If you’re reading this thinking, all this talk of carbon negative brewing is thirsty work…

Then it’s about time we show you the line up!

PRECIPITATOR – GIPSY HILL X CLOUDWATER

Precipitator is an 8.0% Double IPA. Expect lush tropical notes, bright stone fruit, a boozy warmth and a ridiculously smooth body.

CO2e footprint per can: -70g, that’s more CO2e sequestered than an average tree in a day.

CO2e footprint per pint: -223g, you’re sequestering the same amount of CO2e as FOUR trees in a day.

NOICE – GIPSY HILL X AMUNDSEN BREWERY

Noice is a 7.5% Imperial Stout. Imagine diving into a pool of rich, chocolatey, decadence. Sticky? Sure. Delicious? Absolutely! Round that out with a splash of freshly roasted coffee – and you’re onto a winner.

CO2e footprint per can: 330g, that’s more CO2e sequestered than FIVE average trees in a day.

CO2e footprint per pint: a whopping -682g, meaning you’re sequestering the same amount of CO2e as ELEVEN trees in a day!

GLIDER – GIPSY HILL X NORTH BREW CO

Glider is a 6.0% Blackcurrant Sour. It’s sweet. It’s sour. It’s silky smooth and bursting with jammy blackcurrant. Delicious.

CO2e footprint per can: -60g, so by drinking it you’re sequestering the same amount of CO2e as the average tree in a day.

CO2e footprint per pint: -284g, that’ll have you sequestering the same amount of CO2e as FIVE trees in one day.

INKED – GIPSY HILL X VERDANT

Inked is a 7.0% West Coast IPA. Classic West Coast all the way. Smooth. Malty. With heaps of citrus and plenty of pine.

CO2e footprint per can: -90g which is more CO2e sequestered per can than the average tree in a day.

CO2e footprint per pint: -301g, the same amount of CO2e sequestered as FIVE trees in a day!
